IndyCar. The Drama Begins..
The
Inaugural Event of the new 2016 iAdvance Motorsports Indy Elite Series (12
races—11 ovals and one street course in Long Beach) comes soon at the
Homestead-Miami oval on Sunday, February 28, at 7PM EST. The Ricmotech 225 at Homestead is also the
first leg of the Ricmotech Triple Crown which includes the Indy 500 presented
by Ricmotech REALGEAR on May 1, and the end of season Ricmotech 400 at Pocono
on August 14. Every race will be broadcasted live on
RacespotTV ( http://racespot.tv/ ) as well
as iRacing Live. ( http://www.iracing.com/live/ )
As
many as 40 drivers will attempt to qualify for 33 spots in each race. Some of
the best IndyCar DW12 drivers and teams in iRacing will be competing. There is
sure to be intense, close, and exciting racing.
Driving talent along with the engineering knowledge and testing required to
choose the optimum setup for speed in various weather makes the outcome quite
unpredictable. Drama is further enhanced by the necessity to choose pit and
fuel strategies.
Over 50% of the field will include drivers who
have won an IndyCar DW12 race on iRacing during 2015-2016, including Brandon
Trost with 17 victories, Christopher Demeritt (current points leader in the
Winter Series) with 15, and Paul Jennings with 10 victories. Other guys who
have a “winning habit” in this car include veterans Tim Doyle and Niles Anders who
run together on the Ludicrous Speed Team, with a mission, as published on their
Facebook page to “DOMINATE the iRacing IndyCar!”. Add Bradley Walters and Tim
Holgate to the mix and you have 7 drivers, all with racing stats showing a
victory in more than 20% of the races they enter!
These extremely accomplished and very serious drivers
will be challenged by other talented and perhaps even more determined
competitors, like: Joe Branch, sponsored by iAdvance Motorsports and winner of
the most recent iRacing Indy 500 in the 16th Street League; Toni
Helminen, Finland based 8 time winner in the Winter Series; Robert Gorts from
New England with 5 wins; or Marco Brasil, the hard to pass Brazilian of the
Vortex team with 5 wins in the Winter Series. Or others with 3 wins in 2015-16
including: Joe Flanagan of the Ludricrous Speed team; Austin Espitee of HMB
Motorsports; Michael Peters of Peters Motorsports, and T. J. Massick with the 5
car Team RFC.
And, never underestimate the rest of the field
as this series has attracted only those who desire to achieve excellence in
mastering the complex and challenging task of extreme competition, racing the
IndyCar DW12 in iRacing’s outstanding and quite realistic simulation
environment. Competition and the drama
of it all is sure to be as fun and exciting for the spectator and “follower
fan” as it will be for the competitors.
